Life at HOHS is not all work, work, work and every one of our pupils has the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. For senior pupils these can include:

Senior productions are regularly performed at outside venues including Norwich’s Playhouse and Puppet Theatre. Private tuition leading to LAMDA exams is also available.

Our excellent on-site sporting facilities include a heated swimming pool, tennis courts,  a fitness suite, sports field and large sports hall.  Pupils have the chance to compete against local schools through a wide range of competitive fixtures. Additional tennis tuition is available on an individual basis if required.

Music and choir

Concerts and recitals take place in and out of school throughout the year. All pupils also have the opportunity to take individual lessons for singing and in a wide choice of instruments.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The school has an excellent record of success in the DofE , with nearly all Year 10 and 11 pupils working towards Bronze and Silver awards every year.  In the Sixth Form they can progress to the Gold Award. The school was the first in Norfolk to become a directly licensed centre for the scheme.

Pupils also have the opportunity to take part in a variety of national and local educational competitions, visit theatre productions, go on our annual overseas trips and much, much more.
