Headmaster’s PA and School Registrar, full time, permanent
We are looking for a highly-competent professional to undertake a key post in our small, high- achieving independent school.
The role involves the duties of PA to the Headmaster combined with the oversight of pupil recruitment, undertaking the registrar’s duties, and acting as clerk to the governors. It is envisaged that the new post of Registrar’s Assistant will be created to support the successful candidate.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, high professional standards, be able to organise his or her workload and be able to delegate efficiently. The post involves working closely with all the school’s stakeholders, from the governors to the youngest pupils so a friendly, approachable personality is a must. We are looking for somebody who is an able administrator with initiative and flair and who has the confidence to represent the school to potential parents and pupils as well as the general public. It goes without saying that high levels of literacy and numeracy are required in the post, as is the ability to effectively proof-read documents created by others.
The school has an international boarding dimension and effective communication with overseas agents and organisations is an important aspect of the role.
Small class sizes ensure pupils enjoy a learning programme tailored to their needs, in a friendly community with high academic expectations and a strong ethos of pastoral care. We educate boys and girls from Nursery to Year 6, and girls to 18.
As you will see from our website, Hethersett Old Hall School is situated in a stunning sixteen-acre site in a village close to Norwich. Founded in the nineteen twenties, it moved to its present site in 1939 and now boasts a range of top-class facilities in the grounds of the historic Old Hall. Facilities include modern, purpose-built classrooms, a full-size sports hall, an indoor heated swimming pool and a sports field. These are set amongst woods, lawns and an orchard.
If you feel you would be the person to help us develop our school and join our friendly, hard-working team of dedicated professional, please complete the application form or phone the Headmaster, Stephen Crump, for an informal conversation about the post.
Remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience but not less than £25,000 per annum.
Hours: 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, full time over the year to cover term time and staff training days (set dates).
