We offer a rich and rewarding education to your children, but also something more – when they join us, they join a community where every boy or girl is valued, nurtured and challenged to do his or her best.
Our pupils have the opportunity to work and play amidst fine buildings and green spaces – a healthy and secure environment in which to grow and develop.
All members of our school community are valued as individuals and we celebrate achievement in all its forms, whether it is a string of high grades at GCSE or A Level or the first swimming certificate awarded to a young swimmer in Assembly. In this school we share our successes and everyone is encouraged to achieve their best, in whatever challenge they undertake.
Our small class sizes allow each pupil to receive the help he or she needs to really grow and develop academically. But we also pride ourselves on developing the personal qualities and self-confidence that are so important for life beyond school. We value self-confidence without arrogance, competitiveness with compassion and a positive mindset that thrives on challenge.
We also believe that children should leave us as decent, honest young people, willing to contribute to society. We are a forward-looking community but manners matter at Hethersett, as do the traditional values of courtesy, consideration for others, hard work and the pursuit of excellence.
When our pupils go out on visits and excursions, I often receive compliments on their politeness and good behaviour. I think this is in part because, from the youngest day pupils in the Preparatory School to international boarders in the Sixth Form, girls and boys here take pride in their school and wish to represent it in the best possible way – and this makes me proud to be their Headmaster.
All this is a tribute to the friendliness and dynamism of the community in which we live and work. Visit us and experience it for yourself.
