The first thing you see when you enter the gates of Hethersett, is our beautiful Georgian main house which was originally Hethersett Hall, a private dwelling. Here you will receive a warm welcome in our reception with a roaring fire in winter. The school administrative offices, the Headmaster’s office, nurses’ rooms and dining hall are all located in the house.

Our younger boarders aged 9-16 also reside upstairs in this beautiful Georgian building, in bedrooms overlooking our attractive grounds.

The school is located in sixteen acres of beautiful Norfolk countryside which provides a superb setting in which to learn and play.

Boys and girls enjoy our well-maintained grounds with a woodland area, an orchard, extensive lawns, fields and a walled garden, during breaks and lunchtimes. We also try to use our outdoor space to enrich our curriculum as much as possible, so you might see our Lower Prep pupils identifying leaves in the woods, our Nursery pupils investigating our orchard and bee hives and our senior girls climbing trees (we believe you are never too old to stop climbing trees!)

Hethersett Old Hall School gives pupils space to grow. One of the main advantages of our location is that our boys and girls can spend time outside and enjoy a traditional childhood with the freedom to explore in a safe and stimulating environment.
