Year 9 set off on their bronze D of E practice expedition on Saturday. Initially the day started dry but the weather quickly turned rainy. Even though the weather was not conducive for walking, it did not deter any of the students. They cheerfully sang and expertly navigated to the campsite. By the evening the rain had stopped and they were able to sit outside and enjoy each other’s company.
On the Sunday they awoke to a very different day of weather. The sky was blue and the sun shining. Everyone prepared for their next day walk. The groups were excellent on both days, working well in their teams, supporting each other to finish a very successful practice weekend. They are now ready and well prepared for their assessed weekend expedition.
