On Wednesday 6th March, Years 9 and 12 attended the Norfolk Careers Festival where there were over 70 exhibitors from a wide range of industries. The industries represented include the energy sector, digital and creative, tourism, science, health, public services, construction, logistics, law, accountancy, food, hospitality, engineering, retail and enterprise. Careers advisers were available throughout the morning for anyone bewildered by the range of options open to them. It was a really informative and interesting event where pupils could test their skills in a flight simulator, present the weather, try out various virtual reality machines, handle animals like snakes, hold an electronic baby, make a brick weave path and solve many types of problem.

The students were surprised to find out how many different roles there are in the army, that army recruits have to be able to carry a 40kg pack, that paramedics work 12 hour shifts and that 95% of the world’s food is transported by boats!
