Sister Greig, our school nurse, would like those of you with teenagers to have a look at the below document regarding teenagers and social media use.
These days, statistics show a clear link between mental health problems and the use of social media, which is why the mental health and wellbeing charity, the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust, have created this informative guide for children and their parents. The leaflet was written by Psychologist and author Dr Johh Coleman, and covers themes including mental health and social media, the role of parents, supporting children of different ages and adopting a “family digital strategy”. It aims to give parents guidance on helping teenagers make the most of the opportunities afforded by social media, while steering a safe course through it.
