Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded according to academic, sporting or musical ability

Boarding Scholarship

From 11+ to 13+ inclusive
One scholarship awarded of up to 50% of the total fee
This scholarship is open to New Entrants only and is subject to the Entrance Assessments held on 17th January 2009 (for Sept 2009 entry).

Eleven Plus

Two open scholarships awarded of up to a maximum of 20% of the tuition fee.
This scholarship is open to all applicants internal and external and is subject to the Entrance Assessments held on 17th January 2009 (for Sept 2009 entry).

Sports Scholarship

Up to 20% of the school tuition fees plus the opportunity to attend extra-curricular sports clubs free.

Open to both internal and external applicants for entry into Year 7. Short listed candidates will be invited to an assessment day held in November each year.

Music Scholarship

Internal scholarship awarded in Year 9.

Sixth Form

Up to 3 awards of 30% of the tuition fee.
These scholarships are open to both internal and external applicants and are rewarded as a result of an examination and an interview held in November each year.

Sixth Form (Non-Academic)

Applications for scholarships are invited to students entering Year 12, who are able to demonstrate an ability to contribute signicantly to a specific area of school life.  Applicants are asked to apply in writing explaining the contributions, which they will make, and will then be invited to interview. 

Up to 15% of the tuition fees for the duration of the Sixth Form.

N.B. Scholarships normally continue for the duration specified but are reviewed taking into account girl’s behaviour and performance.

Bursaries

The school also provides bursaries. These are means tested and can be applied for by completing a confidential bursary form. The number of bursaries varies each year with the exception of the Jubilee bursaries [see below]

Jubilee Bursaries

Two external Jubilee Bursaries of up to 30% of the tuition fee (means tested) are awarded following the 11+ assessments

N.B. Bursaries are reviewed annually taking into account girl’s behaviour and performance as well as academic performance.

Discounts

Hethersett Old Hall School also offers discounts for siblings and children of clergy and service personnel.

Sibling Discount

A discount is offered to all siblings. First sibling 5%, second sibling 10%, subsequent siblings 15%. This discount will automatically be applied to the fees.

Clergy

Fee reductions (subject to means) are available for children of clergy of The Church of England. This discount will automatically be applied to the fees.

Forces Discount

Referral Scheme

Hethersett Old Hall School offers a 10% discount on one existing fee for one academic year to anyone who introduces a pupil to the school, who then subsequently enters the school.
