International Students
I feel it is vital to emphasize the high overall level of academic and pastoral support provided to overseas students and that we understand the difficulties they often experience away from home, whether they are from Europe or further afield. Nothing is taken for granted and there is a sympathetic and caring approach. It is recognized that overseas students play an extremely important part in all aspects of school life and they are given every encouragement to participate in, and benefit from, both mainstream lessons and extra-curricular activities.

Hethersett Old Hall School’s aim is to provide British and International pupils with a friendly and ordered environment in which they may develop academic and personal strengths and we are proud of the confident, accomplished young women, who pass through the school.
Pupils are educated to extremely high standards by experienced, caring and committed staff, which help to provide a broad, forward-looking curriculum that offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses as well as exciting extra curricular activities to broaden even the broadest of horizons. Both GCSE and A Level results are consistently high with the majority of students continuing onto successful higher education. International students also have the opportunity to learn a second foreign language in addition to English.
Our ESOL department is second to none and provides extra support and tuition to pupils learning English.
We have always welcomed international students at the school and past pupils have come from throughout Asia and Europe for periods from1term to 3 years. They have left the school not only with a deeper understanding of the English language and culture, but with life long friends and memories.
Past pupils have gone on to study subjects as diverse as Business, Biology, Music, Sociology and Textile Technology at Universities as varied as UEA, Nottingham Trent, Loughborough and Manchester University.
