After-School Care and Day Boarding

After-School Clubs (Nursery – Year 2)

We offer the parents of our pupils in Nursery – Year 2 the option of attending our after school clubs every day during term time from 3.00pm – 6.00pm.

Once your son or daughter finishes their lessons at 3.00pm they will be given a snack and drink in the Preparatory School hall and can then join in with the exciting activities run by Miss Turner, class teachers and our after-school assistants. Take a look at our packed schedule of activities for the current term:

There is no charge for after-school care between 3.00pm and 4.00pm each day. However our optional after-school clubs run by peripatetic staff (for example, tennis) are charged individually. See fees for further details.

There is a charge between 4.00pm and 5.00pm of £6.50 per hour*, which includes tea served at 4.30pm in the dining hall. Between 5.00pm and 6.00pm the charge is £4.00 per hour*.

* Part hours will be charged in full (termly in arrears).

After-School Clubs (Years 3 – 6)

Teaching finishes at 3.45pm for our boys and girls in Upper Prep, but this is by no means the end of the school day!

We offer all pupils the option of attending our after-school clubs run by our After-School Co-Ordinator, class teachers and our after-school assistants until 6.00pm. There is no charge to attend our Upper Prep after-school clubs until 6.00pm. However our optional after-school clubs run by peripatetic staff (for example, tennis) are charged individually. See fees for further details.

Boys and girls register for day boarding at 3.45pm and are given a snack and a drink. Pupils can then take part in lots of fun activities – take a look at our packed schedule of activities for the current term:

At 5.00pm – 5.45pm all pupils gather to  receive supervised prep before being collected by 6.00pm.

Our after-school clubs run every day during term time, including exeat weekends and on the last day of each half-term,  however they do not run on the last day of term.

Day Boarding (Years 7 – 11)

Teaching finishes at 3.45pm for our senior girls. However we offer all girls the option to stay for day boarding until 6.00pm. There is no charge for day boarding until 6.00pm.

All pupils must register for day boarding at 3.45pm and are given a snack and a drink. Pupils can then attend extra-curricular clubs and activities run on the school site or take part in sporting fixtures. Timetables of extra-curricular activities and sport fixtures are issued to pupils and parents each term – see the timetable here. However there is a charge for attending some of our optional extra-curricular clubs run by peripatetic staff (for example, tennis). See fees for further details.

Alternatively, senior girls have the option of socialising in the day-boarding common room, practising in the music rooms or using the ICT suite until 5.00pm.

At 5.00pm, all pupils gather and are supervised for prep. We expect them to work quietly without distracting each other. Prep ends at 6.00pm when all pupils must be collected.

Day boarding is available every day during term time, including exeat weekends and on the last day of each half-term; however day boarding does not run on the last day of term.
