Hethersett Old Hall School enjoyed a wonderful Christingle Service in St. Remigius’ Church on Wednesday this week, led by our friend Rev Mary Kerslake. Head of Prep Sean Peace did a reading from St. Matthew, pupils read prayers and there were lovely performances by Reception and Nursery pupils and by the Prep choir led by Mrs Richards and with beautiful harp accompaniment by Anna Luterbacher in Year 5. Mary talked to us about the work of the Children’s Society and how the money we had collected in our candles would help. The hymn-singing was much enjoyed by all but the highlight was when we all lit our Christingles and stood in a circle with our families and friends. With the church lights turned off it was very pretty and everyone was very careful to remember, for safety’s sake, what Mary told us, “Don’t jingle with your Christingle!”
As term reaches its end, there are plenty of other festive delights to look forward to next week, including our very popular Snow Ball, which sees the Barn transformed into a winter wonderland for dancing and ‘mocktails’, the Lower Prep Nativity production, Christmas parties for the Prep and Lower Prep departments and the school carol service at St Remigius church.
