Hannah Godfrey, a former England hockey player and a Youth Olympics competitor, recently joined the school as our newest PE teacher. After graduating from Brunel University with a degree in sports and exercise science, Hannah worked at Norwich School and has now joined Hethersett to teach our pupils from age 3 up to Year 13.
The 24-year-old started playing sport at the age of eight and, since then, has shown her talents in a number of fields, including county netball and national rounders. When Miss Godfrey turned 15 she joined the first team at Ipswich Hockey Club. She the went on to play for England for five years.
Miss Godfrey said she hopes her “have a go” approach to sport will rub off on the pupils. She said: “Hopefully we will have more clubs and opportunities to play sport. I want to teach our pupils that being the best isn’t always the end product.”
