Ella Kassulke (Year 8) has been selected as one of only ten finalists for The Education Art Prize 2013, a prestigious competition open to all schools and students, up to the age of 18. Her ‘Golden Twig’ artwork was inspired (and later judged by) this year’s featured artist, Ian Cook.

In his own words, Ian Cook is “the guy behind the paint splattered glasses and the one who paints artworks with radio controlled cars, actual car tyres and toy car wheels”. He has appeared on TV programmes such as Top Gear, The One Show and Blue Peter, and his unique, often large-scale ‘Pop Bang Colour’ artwork is commissioned by companies all around the world.

Ella will now attend the finalist’s workshop with Ian Cook and the specialist crafts team at the Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Following this the final competition winner will be announced.

Congratulations Ella on this fantastic achievement!
