Three weeks ago, five of our Year 13 biologists completed in the first stage of the British Biology Olympiad.
The British Biology Olympiad challenges and stimulates students with an interest in biology to expand and extend their talents. It allows students to demonstrate their knowledge. It is hoped that competing in the Olympiad will encourage students already interested in this valuable, wide-ranging and rewarding subject to continue their study beyond A-level.
The results have just come in and we are delighted that Joy Chianu was awarded the ‘highly commended’ standard. Congratulations Joy.
Later in the term our Year 9 and Year 10 students will compete in the British Biology Challenge against the rest of the country to show off their science brilliance.
