As part of their A Level unit, our Year 13 applied science students have to carry out investigations that are vocational and produce a portfolio written to a professional scientist.

Our girls are all investigating different topics currently. These include; studying the effect of energy drinks on heart rates and blood pressure, how cooking affects the vitamin C content of vegetables, the caffeine content of different teas, the amount of oxygen given off from hydrogen peroxide and how it can be used, if different strengths of bleach are more effective in restricting bacterial growth and the tar and nicotine content of different cigarettes and the impact smoking has on people.
