Last Wednesday, our U13 and U11 netball teams went to compete at Taverham Hall School.

The U13 girls played first, with Anna Allen as captain. After the first quarter the scores were even at four all. We continued into the second quarter and unfortunately fell behind by four goals taking the score to 11 – 7 at half-time. No changes were made at half-time but an emphasis on passing accurately was key to the HOHS team narrowing the score line. The third quarter saw both teams battling hard, ending up with no score being achieved by either team. The final quarter found HOHS without their captain as she had to go off the court with an injury.

A brilliant Meredith Winship (Year 6) came on to save the day. The Taverham girls ran away with the score.

Result: HOHS U13 v Taverham Hall (8 – 15)

Player of the match: Sophie Walker

The second of the two games – the U11s – started with HOHS scoring two consecutive goals. We were leading two goals to nil after the first quarter. The second quarter took HOHS to a 4 – 0 lead, with Emma Bell and Jessie Lloyd shooting extremely well. The second two quarters saw HOHS run away with the game, winning the match 8 – 0.

Result: HOHS U11 v Taverham Hall (8 – 0)

Player of the match: Jessie Lloyd

Well done to both teams, especially Sophie and Jessie!
