Ms Couglan has entered some of our talented sixth form artists’ work into the prestigious 2012 Saatchi Gallery Art Prize for Schools, including this stunning geisha artwork by Emily Laxton (17).

The competition is open to primary, secondary and sixth form schools from around the world, who are invited to submit art work from students up to and including the age of 18. There is no prescribed theme for works entered nor is there a restriction on media used (sculpture, painting, installation, photography and mixed media art works are all eligible).

A first prize of £10,000 will be awarded to the winning school’s art department, with a further £2,000 given to the winning pupil to be spent on art and computer equipment.

Our pupils work is available to view online here. We are listed under Hethersett Old Hall School.

There will be an exhibition of the twenty shortlisted entries at the Saatchi Gallery in March 2013.

Good luck girls!
