Amelia Bibby-Garroch’s mummy, Mrs Garroch, is a pilot and very kindly came into our Year 2 class yesterday to tell the children how an aeroplane flies.

We were all fascinated to look at the maps, the pilot’s computer, photographs of the instruments in a flight deck and the charts, and even tried on the ear phones! We learnt that mathematics is a very important when piloting an aeroplane.

The children all made model aeroplanes and had great fun testing them in the playground. Thank you Mrs Garroch for a fascinating lesson!
