On Thursday 18th October our school choir took part in the Norfolk High Schools’ Choir Festival at Saint Andrew’s Hall in Norwich.

Ten local schools combined to form a large choir of 500 singers. Our conductor was Richard Allain, the Director of Music at Norwich School. The Intermediate County Youth Orchestra also played and accompanied us. The concert began at 7pm and lasted for about an hour. Our programme included many popular songs and spirituals such as ‘One Love’, ‘Good News’, ‘Dancing In The Street’ and Handel’s ‘Hallelujah Chorus’.

We left school at 10am and spent the whole day practising at Saint Andrews Hall. Then we went for a delicious meal with Mrs Greene at Bella Italia Restaurant, before going back for the concert in the evening. Family and friends came along to listen and support us.

It was an incredible experience for me to sing in such a large choir, our voices blended and we created an amazing sound, thanks to our conductor Richard Allain. He really motivated and inspired us to sing our hearts out!
