School holds an Act of Remembrance

On Friday 9th November the school gathered for an act of remembrance in the barn. It was a special service to commemorate members of the armed forces who had given their lives in two World Wars and in numerous other conflicts since 1946.

At the beginning of the service Mr Crump spoke about the significance of wearing a poppy and reminded the girls that even today our national security is being maintained by the vigilance of service men and women who work in the army, navy and air force.

A minute’s silence was observed – an opportunity to think about those who had died in war.

The service ended with prayers for peace and the singing of the hymn ‘Make me a channel of your peace’.
